v11.5.3
A new Late Briefing penalty with clearer stop-and-go handling, full relay-leg detail across penalties, incidents, the race log and the assistant, submission times and a DNF shortcut on incident reports, a live in-race count, and a web event search — with steadier officiating on merged races behind the scenes.
Penalties and incidents
- Technical officials: There's a new Late Briefing penalty. Penalty types that can only be stop-and-go now go straight to a stop-and-go serve timer, with no penalty box to pick — even on events that otherwise have stop-and-go switched off.
- Technical officials: Any official who can submit penalties on a race can now mark a stop-and-go as served — not just approvers or whoever reported it — and the button shows up wherever you open the penalty from.
- Technical officials: Relay events now carry the team leg (A–D) throughout: next to the team number on the penalty and incident lists, the race log and the map pins; when you pick a leg (the picker now shows the team name so you can confirm the team); and on voice and AI reports, which now pick the leg up from what you say.
- Technical officials: If a voice or AI report is sent twice within a couple of minutes, the app keeps the first one and tells you, instead of filing a duplicate.
- Penalty and incident list rows show when each one was submitted — the day and time — so race mode and the event-wide list line up.
- Technical officials: When you submit a penalty that could go in the bike box but the type also fits a leg with no box on that race, the box picker offers None so you can keep it out of a box. The app only asks which box when there's a real choice — otherwise it fills the box in for you.
- Technical officials: When you report an incident against a numbered athlete, you can mark them as Did not finish in the same step, without filing a separate DNF.
- If a penalty, incident, or approval can't be saved because you don't have permission on that race, the app tells you straight away instead of appearing to save it and then quietly dropping it. And if a report sent in the background is refused, the app now tells you it wasn't saved instead of it quietly disappearing.
- Attaching a photo — in chat, or when adding a note to a penalty or incident — slides in over the keyboard instead of closing it, so you don't lose your place.
Race control
- The athletes overview and race control show an IN RACE count of how many athletes are still racing, alongside the existing totals.
- The race log now shows each entry's athlete number and country flag alongside who filed it, and spells out more kinds of change in plain language: type changes, moving a report to a different athlete, penalty-box changes, status flags like DNF or disqualification, removed photos, and when an entry is deleted.
- Hovering or tapping the temperature on the weather card opens an air-temperature history, with a small trend chart and the recent readings.
- Leaving race mode with no signal — or when an event has been deleted — no longer leaves you stuck on a loading screen.
Officiating
- The location button on the map now offers choices — open the spot in your maps app, share it, or copy it — instead of jumping straight to sharing.
- When you're running a ready check, the monitor shows every official's battery, whether their location is coming through, and how recently they were seen — not just the officials who have already responded.
Event setup
- On the web, the event view has a search box — press Ctrl/⌘ + F — that filters the Races and Users lists as you type. Press Esc to clear it. The box now drops down below its button, so the last tab stays visible and clickable.
- Technical delegates: The race log now flags when an athlete isn't in the imported start list — so you know their penalties and race status aren't reaching the results system — and tells you to re-sync the start list to fix it.
Organisation
- Organisation admins: When crew mode is off, the crew screen now explains why — not enabled for your organisation, the event is over, switched off for this event, or it couldn't be checked (with a Try again button) — and creating crews or scanning people in stays blocked until it's on. On the web, creating a crew on an event that's over now shows a clear message instead of failing on save.
Event assistant
- The assistant warns you when your app is too old to use it, pointing you to update or switch to the web version, and flags when changes to demo or merged races may not apply yet.
- Technical delegates: On relay events, the assistant now reports penalties and incidents by team leg — for example "#12 (B)" — and no longer counts two legs of one team as two athletes.
Behind the scenes
- Officials appointed to a merged race can submit and approve penalties, report incidents, and receive that race's notifications reliably; removing someone's role from a merged race now sticks.
- Race reports for merged races come through reliably even when several races finish at once.
- Editing officials' roles is smoother, and simultaneous edits by two admins no longer overwrite each other.
- The app no longer sends you to the edit-profile screen when your profile is already complete — it opens straight to your event.
- Switching between races on a tablet is steadier.
- Race mode switches on automatically further ahead of the start now, and the heads-up notification arrives earlier.
