Collecting feedback

Your organisation can collect feedback from officials automatically after every event. You define a set of questions once, and the app asks each participant to answer them when an event finishes.

How it works

  1. You build a feedback form in your organisation settings.
  2. When an event is marked as over, every official who took part receives a feedback request.
  3. The next time each official opens the app, the feedback sheet appears with your questions (preceded by a short app rating).
  4. Their answers are collected against your organisation, where you can review them.

Feedback answers are stored against the organisation rather than the event, so they survive even after the event itself is archived.

Setting up the questions

Open your organisation settings and go to the Feedback tab. Turn on Collect post-event feedback, then add the questions you want to ask.

For each question you choose:

  • Type — one of:
    • Rating — a 1–5 star rating.
    • Yes / No — a simple two-option answer.
    • Single choice — pick one option from a list you define.
    • Multiple choice — tick any number of options you define.
    • Text — a free-form written answer.
  • Prompt — the question text shown to the official.
  • Options — for the choice types, the list of answers to choose from.
  • Required — whether an official must answer before they can submit.

You can reorder questions and remove ones you no longer need. Questions with a blank prompt (and blank options) are dropped automatically when you save.

A good starting set

A short form gets the best response rate. A useful default covers one question of each type, for example:

  • How would you rate your overall experience at this event? (rating, required)
  • Did the RaceRanger app help you officiate effectively? (yes / no, required)
  • Which part of the app worked best for you? (single choice)
  • Which areas could we improve? (multiple choice)
  • Anything else you'd like to share with the organisers? (text)

Reviewing responses

Each official submits their own response once per event. As an organisation admin you can review the feedback collected for your organisation. Officials can see their own submitted answers but not anyone else's.
