Member management
Inviting members to your organisation
Organisation members are the pool of people who can be assigned to events.
To add someone:
- Navigate to your organisation's member list.
- Add the user by email or search for existing RaceRanger users.
- Assign them an organisation-level role (admin or member).
When the user list is long, start typing a name or email in the search box to filter it down to matching users.
Organisation admins can modify events and manage other members. Regular members can be assigned to events but can't change organisation settings.
Inviting officials to an event
Once an event exists, you can assign people to it from the web admin:
- Open the event from the events list.
- Switch to the Users tab.
- Use the + Add User floating action button at the bottom right.

The "Add user to event" dialog lets you search every RaceRanger user (not just members of your organisation) by name or email, pick a role from the role dropdown, and confirm with Add. New assignments are created in the Approved state immediately. Users who were previously removed from the event are un-deleted by name rather than re-created, so their settings (notifications, last-read positions, etc.) come back with them.
If your organisation has TO assignments enabled, race-level assignments are managed separately from the per-race Race officials dialog — see the delegate guide on Managing officials.
Editing or approving a user
The event Users tab shows every assignment with the user's avatar, name, email, and current role.

For each row you can:
- Pencil (Edit role) — opens the Edit user role modal where
you can change the user's role. Saving writes back to the
assignment with
isApproved: true, which also doubles as the approval path. - Trash (Remove user from event) — removes the assignment. The user loses access immediately.
- Approve button (only for pending requests) — opens the same Edit user role modal so you can pick a role before granting access.

Removing access
To remove someone from an event, use the trash icon on their row. They'll lose access to the event immediately.
To remove someone from the organisation entirely, remove them from the organisation's member list.
