Drafting view

The drafting view shows live data from drafting devices worn by athletes during non-drafting races. Officials assigned as bike officials see this widget on their race mode screen.

What the drafting view shows

For each athlete with a device, the widget displays:

  • Drafting status — whether the athlete is clear, in the warning zone, or actively drafting.
  • Current session duration — how long the current drafting event has lasted.
  • Total drafting seconds — accumulated drafting time.
  • Drafting behind — the athlete number they're drafting behind.
  • Yoyo count — how many times the athlete has entered and exited the drafting zone.
  • Paired device name — shown in small text below the status label, useful for spotting pairing issues or mis-assigned bibs mid-race.

Drafting status indicators

Status Meaning
OFF Device is off or not transmitting.
VISI Athlete is visible but outside the drafting zone.
WARN Athlete is in the warning zone — close but not yet drafting.
DRFT Athlete is actively drafting — in the zone and accumulating time.

Using drafting data

The drafting data updates in real time. When an athlete's drafting time exceeds the configured threshold, the device signals a drafting violation. Officials can use this data alongside their visual observation to issue drafting penalties.

Penalties submitted with drafting device evidence are flagged as hardware-assisted.

Who sees the drafting view

The drafting view is visible to officials whose TO assignment has the bike official flag enabled. When drafting devices are enabled for the event, a Drafting button appears on the right side of the race mode screen as a direct shortcut to open it.

The drafting view is also available in the race control dashboard on the web.
